Our RV campsites feature pull-thru and back-in sites with full hookups of either 30 &/or 50-amp electric service. Hookups provide increased comfort, including the ability to use unlimited water and run items that draw a great deal of power such as televisions and air conditioners. At Mosquito Lagoon RV Park, you will have connections for electric, water and sewer, with wireless internet hotspots also available.
When you inquire about a reservation, please let us know what your RV or coach is wired for. You may also want to add a picnic table since our spacious sites have plenty of room and level grass areas. This is one Florida campground that won’t nickel and dime you for every amenity we offer – most everything is included in the price!
30 or 50-amp Service
30-amp 120-volt service = 3,600 watts
50-amp 120/240-volt service = 12,000 watts
If you own a recreational vehicle that has a 50-amp electrical system, using the 50-amp service will help protect the long-term dependability of appliances in your rig. Rarely ever will one of our guests with a 50-amp RV have to use 30-amp service. If that is the case, it is only because that’s the only power available at the time of your stay at our campground. If a rig has to drop from 50 to 30 amps, an adapter will automatically limit the amps to 30, therefore supplying about one-third of the power that the rig may need to run a full complement of appliances.
What about a 30-amp electrical system using a 50-amp service? Is this safe? While it is your responsibility to know the limits of your RV’s electrical system, we do not want you to have to risk any damages to your appliances or system. We know the ins and outs of 30-amp vs. 50-amp hookups and will do our best to make sure your RV reservation/lot meets your needs. Please keep in mind, however, that only 6 of our lots remain at only 30-amp service.
Modern Necessities
Mosquito Lagoon RV Park also includes modern necessities such as water and WiFi hotspots! We also have laundry services available in our coin-operated laundry mat, as well as a free shower house for our guests. BYOS – bring your own soap, shampoo and other stuff (toiletries).
Another amenity that many of our guests take advantage of is our ice machine. For only $2.00 per bag, you won’t have to rely on your own ice-maker to meet the demands of a cold drink in the heat of summer, or filling the ice box to cover your fresh catch of the day!
Sewer & Dump Station
Sewer isn’t necessarily required if you are only staying for a few days, as you can dump your wastewater at a dumping station at your next destination. However, you may hook up to the sewer when you arrive if you’d like or are staying for an extended time.
You will need an RV sewer hose (3″ diameter) with a bayonet fitting on your RV end and an elbow and sewer adapter on the other end. You will also find it handy to have disposable plastic or vinyl gloves to wear while handling the hoses, a wrench designed to tighten/loosen the connectors, and plastic tub to store the various parts in so they don’t mess-up your storage cabinet.
When you do dump, open the valves on one tank at a time: always dump your black tank first, rinse (pour 4 gallons of water down the toilet), dump the black tank again, close the black tank valve, then dump the gray tank. Close all your valves, disconnect the sewer hose, lift it from the RV end and walk it towards the sewer connection to make sure all the junk is out. Then rinse the sewer hose and connectors with fresh water.
Hint: After dumping, pour a few gallons of fresh water in each tank with some tank cleaner (available at RV stores) — this will slosh around as you drive and clean-up the tank and sensors. Dump this when you arrive at your next destination or at a dump station close to home.
